Communicating with young people in their own language is a great responsiblity, especially if you undertake the honourable task of imbuing them with a love and knowledge of classical music. Everyone attending this production aimed at dissecting Petőfi’s oeuvre and its relationship to music will be welcomed by prominent representatives from the Hungarian music education and performing arts worlds, as well as by students from the Liszt Academy.
One dedicated proponent of this effort is opera singer Sára Banai, who has compiled the programme for the production in relation to the school curriculum. On this occasion, the performing artists and their youthful audience will together examine the poetry of Sándor Petőfi through the lens of classical music, folk poetry, contemporary pop music and beatboxing.
