This series is conceived for elementary school children. The goal is to bring them into closer contact with those musical genres they may not come across in their normal, everyday musical experience or in the school curriculum. There will be a one hour interactive concert organised especially for school groups, where we will journey across the landscapes of different musical genres, including instrumental folk music, world music and jazz, exploring their crossovers and connections.

Children taking part in the concert of the MajdNEM Zaj group will have the chance to explore an unusual, less familiar corner of the realm of musical instruments. The common feature of the folk instruments to be heard in this show is that each of them is accompanied by a strange, constantly buzzing and reverberating sound. What is that weird noise? How are these instruments played? What are they made of, and where and how are they produced? This morning promises numerous such questions and exciting elements, but the most important participant, as always, will be the music itself, performed by outstanding musicians on special folk instruments.
