Lullabies – Songs and Verse from the Gates of Dreamland and Beyond
28 April 2013 Sunday
9 am - 10 am
Glass Hall
Bea Palya - voice, poem
Featuring János Gerzson, Márton Bakai

The title of this new series of songs, music and verse for the smallest children and their parents was borrowed from the album released by Bea Palya in November 2012, on the cover of which the singer writes: “My experience is that there is a direct connection between the ears and throats of small children, so that they will simply sing what they hear. And it’s the same thing with us as grown-ups. I myself stuffed myself with a variety of song-sheets and folk song lyrics when I was little, and perhaps one inflection or another was a challenge for me at the time, or I didn’t understand the words – but never mind, I’d go and think about it later. At least I had something to think about. I’d be glad if the songs would live on in little ones and adults alike, if they’d learn them and sing them. In any case, I’m planning to involve a lot of singing together at these lullaby concerts. And I think there will also be plenty of laughing together, as these songs are not devoid of humour either.” Presented by: Palace of Arts
