Pompásan buszozunk! (Bussing it in style!)

Featuring:

writer László Garaczi

A slingshot accident expands time and space, beginning an uncontrollable stream of memories. The narrator offers a behind-the-scenes look at the fall of Communism, with reminiscences of the school years and coming-of-age, as well as touching on infanthood and the defining experiences in becoming an adult. Pompásan buszozunk! is the second volume of the Lemur series from László Garaczi and features an incredibly perceptive language, combined with irresistible humour.
'In my father's signature, the first letter takes up half the page, and in several places it tears the paper. It would inadvisable to make fun of this tempestuous and grandiose G. Anyone who sees the G of my father will look at him differently afterwards, and it intimates great expectations. It would be impossible to fake his ¬signature. I have been practising for years, but am left with only pale imitations. I admire and adore him for that G. Often, completely gratuitously - just for fun - I will ask him to write his name, our name, on a piece of paper. For several seconds the pen slides up and down along the page, loops along from right to left; double jumps and loop-the-loops, yet never merely just randomly back and forth, always moving according to a highly perfected and impetuous plan, until suddenly that unique, wild shape stands there that from a distance is nothing like the G that I write, that I have to write, though it is also the same, just an ecstatic, unearthly, divine variation. This stunning start is followed by a slender, insignificant little tail. The name is a superfluous remnant, as the unquestionable will of his ambitious intention dictates.” (Excerpt from the novel.)
This reading from László Garaczi, who skilfully speaks the language of middle school students, promises to be incredibly entertaining.
