The concert starts with Aranka, the cleaning woman, reporting that the invited artist has cancelled the appearance, so she has been asked to entertain the children with poems, fairy tales and songs in her place. 'Because singing is not hard; anyone can sing...' she says. And out of Aranka's red grocery trolley come, along with her cleaning implements, the poems of János Lackfi, Dániel Varró, Anna Szabó T. and Erika Bartos. Also being performed alongside the amusing and instructive poems and stories will be two revised classics from the works of Judit Halász.
Malek started her career by portraying the biggest roles in musical theatre on stages in Hungary and abroad and became nationally known as a cast member of the television serial Neighbours. The public also knows her from her theatrical roles and from the programme Voice, where she appears as a mentor. She is equally comfortable in the genres of pop, jazz, chanson and world music, and her new musical theatre programme is targeted at the youngest age group.
A several-time winner of the Artisjus and EMerTon awards, Malek grew up in a musical family: her father is composer Miklós Malek, and her mother is the singer and voice teacher Mária Toldy, making it little wonder that she and her brother, composer Miklós Malek Jr both chose musical careers. As the mother of three children, Malek truly understands the language of youngsters, and she also knows both how to address the smallest ones through the use of music and how to bring music close to them. Assisting her will be her outstanding fellow musicians György Frey, Máté Hámori and Tamás Kovács.
