The Celebration of Folk Music is about far more than just the gala night. Starting in the afternoon Müpa Budapest will welcome lovers of folk music and dance with free family programmes. As for children, we are presenting a programme from Szilvia Bognár and her band: Sack Full of Secrets, which starts at 4.30 pm in the Glass Hall. While of course it wouldn't do to divulge the secrets, we can reveal the fact the fact that the sack that contains them is "a bundle of gold like a bud. Round, smooth... and closed. Nobody can say what kind of flower it holds. Or perhaps it is not a flower?” Could it be... a cat? Or maybe clothes, beautiful drawings, games, or lots of presents? The verses of poets Anna Szabó T., Sándor Weöres and Ágnes Nemes Nagy, set to music and coupled with folk melodies, will lead the children to the secret path taking us from Moldavia to a hopscotch court hidden in an alleyway. Wherever our fancy and fickle fortune takes us! Also songs will appear from this bundle of secrets.
