“Two human stars, united for ever for the sake of what is good and true.”
A work against decay and destruction, against all the powers that restrain, for youth.

“There stood the young couple on the tip of the heart,” recalled László Nagy the scene that inspired his famous poem, “Wedding,” “while the music was playing, the guests were drinking, clinking glasses with the foreign tourists with their cameras around their neck. The ceremony was taking its course. I felt those two young people tying the knot were a mere pretext for the protracted revelry. They could only wait, standing there like two sculptures, watching the waves with a painful expression.” The wedding feast and the related rich traditions make for one of the most important celebrations of a people.

This dance drama undertakes to evoke László Nagy’s vast, magnificent poem. Through this production we might recognize how complex we are: thirsty of beauty and truth, while accommodating twisted and dark desires, eager for rites and celebrations, as well as bacchanals.

Magical, religious actions wear out of our feasts, while revelry and banquets continue to be opportunities for representation.
