Founded in Montreal in 2002, the seven-member troupe is one of the most original companies of contemporary circus. Their name is a pun on the French idiom les cinq doigts de la main, or, the fingers of the hand: each is different and works differently, yet can cooperate in perfect harmony for a common goal.
The company's production often concern themselves with the miracles and sorrows of everyday life, and each is made distinctive by an irresistible naturalness, love and informality.
Presented in 2014, their "kitchen circus” is based on memories of smells and tastes, and uses the language of acrobatics, dance and theatre to talk about an essential experience we have all had: the sweet temptations of childhood, the feverish preparations for festive lunches, culinary experiments of more or less success.
