The changing of the seasons is a symbol of the cycle of our lives, and each season is reflected in our relationship with nature, our habits and our celebrations. This concert features excerpts from two famous works of music that evoke the seasons perhaps more thrillingly than any other: Vivaldi's cycle of violin concertos The Four Seasons and Haydn's oratorio The Seasons. Complementing Vivaldi's work will be the personal musical commentaries and improvisations of Roby Lakatos. The composition by Astor Piazzolla is regarded as one of the high points of Latin American tango music. The audience will also get to take part in the tumult of a carnival and a pagan solar festival, as well as feeling the morning light of the northern sun, the overwhelming power of a cloudburst over the Grand Canyon and the warm caress of the setting sun. The atmosphere of these celebrations will come to life through the artists of the Duna Dance Ensemble.
