Together with her internationally successful early music ensemble, L’Arpeggiata, harpist and theorbo-player Christina Pluhar are renowned for fashioning each and every concert programme out of a unique project. For this occasion, they have chosen one of the greatest masterpieces from the Baroque opera literature: Henry Purcell’s 1688 work Dido and Aeneas, based on Virgil. This concert performance relating the tragic tale of the ill-fated Carthaginian princess has additional thrills in store for the Müpa audience in the form of the world-famous Hungarian soprano and national treasure Emőke Baráth as she takes on the female lead. Joining her in what promises to be an exceptional production will be Tomáš Král, Céline Scheen, Luciana Mancini, Johanna Rosa Falkinger, Benedetta Mazzucato, Dingle Yandell and the Hannover vocal ensemble VOKTETT
