Die erste Walpurgisnacht, Op. 60
Voices of the Future is one of Hungary’s largest cultural programmes aimed at high school students. Over the course of several months, some 500 students prepare together to perform outstanding pieces of music on the Müpa Budapest stage. Following last year’s highly successful Carmina Burana, Die erste Walpurgisnacht by Mendelssohn will be performed this year, a piece that presents a particularly exciting challenge for the young singers. In the first half of the concert, the audience will hear two iconic choral works by Kodály – the dramatic Jesus and the Traders and the evocative Mátra Pictures – complemented by immersive experiences and surprises.
