This evening dedicated to English music offers, in addition to works by Elgar, The Planets: one of Gustav Holst’s most popular pieces, it is nevertheless rarely performed here in Hungary. Three movements from the seven-movement suite were performed in Budapest in 1923, with Ernst von Dohnányi conducting this Hungarian partial-premiere.
