As in former years, the jury of the New Hungarian Musical Forum's Composer Competition will again be interested in the relationship that young composers maintain with important oeuvres. On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of his birth and 50th anniversary of his death, the competition now pays hommage to Zoltán Kodály by inviting entries that were inspired by the composer's art or personality.

The competition piece is to be written for an ensemble of 56 players, and the composition has to be at least 10 maximum of 20-minute-long. In addition to the typical instruments of the classical orchestra, they may include even a synthesizer or a cimbalom.

An event jointly organized with Budapest Music Center.
