Luisa Miller – concert performance

Opened in 1737, Naple’s opera house, the Teatro di San Carlo is a cultic sanctuary of the genre. It has hosted the premiere of many a work popular to this day, among them Verdi’s Luisa Miller, which was presented in 1849. In Budapest the Neapolitan company will be led by a splendidly talented young conductor, Daniele Rustioni. Romanian singer Elena Mosuc, a member of the Zurich Opera, will make her Budapest debut in the title role of the opera.

The splendid soprano is the guest of the most prestigious operas, having sung in Barcelona, Berlin, Vienna, Salzburg, Milan, Venice, Verona, Brussels, Amsterdam, New York and Dallas. She has worked with conductors like Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Fabio Luisi, Lorin Maazel, Gustavo Dudamel and Daniel Harding. Over the past decade, she has earned great success in the role of Luisa Miller, in theatres that included Milan’s La Scala.
