Two intervals
At the centre of David McVicar’s delightfully spectacular staging of Tosca this time we have the Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen, who in just a few short years has become one of New York’s biggest opera stars, now irresistibly conquering us in the Italian repertoire as well. At Tosca’s side will be the 30-year-old Freddie De Tommaso, whose skyrocketing international career began with the same role he is now making his Met debut with: in December 2021, he jumped in at the last minute to sing Cavaradossi at London’s Royal Opera House. And portraying the diabolical Scarpia is the always explosively energetic American baritone Quinn Kelsey.
The broadcast will be sung in the original language, and shown with Hungarian and English subtitles.
The ‘Metropolitan Opera Live in HD’ transmissions have been made possible through the cooperation of our partner, liveincinema.eu s.r.o.
