Piotr Anderszewski is considered one of the leading pianists of his generation. His first solo album – comprising works by Bach and Beethoven – won the Polish Critics' Award in 1996 and resulted in a complete Bach series released by Harmonia Mundi. In 2001, his recording of Beethoven's Diabelli Variations for Virgin Classics won several French awards and enthusiastic praise from critics, with The Guardian describing it as 'music of the highest order'. His orchestral concerts won him the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Music Award presented to the very finest instrumental performers.
