Change

We would like to inform you that the closure of the Budapest Metropolitan Police won’t affect this program.

Please follow our website, where we will inform you of any possible changes.

The building will open at 6 pm at the earliest, so, in order to avoid waiting, please plan your arrival for the evening events accordingly.

Thank you for your understanding!

The subject matter is far from the only thing that promises to make this performance of Offenbach’s last work for the stage so fantastic, as we will get to hear some wonderful singers when Bartlett Sher’s captivating 2009 production of Tales of Hoffmann returns to the Met’s series of HD transmissions. The title role of the poet escaping into alcohol goes to today’s top French tenor, Benjamin Bernheim, with Erin Morley, Pretty Yende and Clémentine Margaine portraying Hoffmann’s loves. Playing not one, but four demonic figures in this performance conducted by Marco Armiliato is bass-baritone Christian Van Horn.

The broadcast will be sung in the original language, and shown with Hungarian and English subtitles.

The ‘Metropolitan Opera Live in HD’ transmissions have been made possible through the cooperation of our partner, liveincinema.eu s.r.o.
