Encounters - aria evening

6:30 pm - 9 pm
one interval
Béla Bartók National Concert Hall

Conductor:

Gergely Kesselyák

Featuring:

soprano Brigitta Kele
mezzo-soprano Viktória Mester
tenor Gergely Németi
baritone Levente Molnár

The radiance of Gergely Kesselyák's personality and his energetic and evocative conducting mean that his concerts can always be relied on to be events. Appearing at this opera gala concert he has organised will be soloists whose young age belies the fine achievements they can boast. After singing in Düsseldorf, Paris, Avignon, Strasbourg, China and Israel, Brigitta Kele has made it as far as the stage of New York's Metropolitan Opera. Levente Molnár has also basked in the applause of the Met audience, in addition to making guest appearances at the opera houses of London, Munich, Berlin, Copenhagen and Vienna. Viktória Mester studied at the Liszt Academy's department of vocal and opera studies after spending time at Mária Toldy's musical theatre studio, where she learned dance and movement skills that she is able to exploit on the opera stage. After completing his course of study in Hungary, Gergely Németi-Menyhért won a scholarship to further hone his skills in Wales. From early guest appearances at the opera houses of Temesvár (Timișoara) and Nagyvárad (Oradea), his career has taken him to others on the stages of Cardiff, Vienna and Zagreb - and he has continued to work as a church organist in Arad all the while. This encounter between the four singers and the MÁV Symphony Orchestra.
