Macrocosmos – Dance composition for Béla Bartók’s Music for strings, percussion and celesta

How can wildness and rigorousness coexist? How does great music transform dissonance, as if by magic, into harmony? In his famous poem, Bartók, Gyula Illyés delved into these and other questions of art and ethics. This evening the Hungarian National Dance Ensemble and Dohnányi Orchestra Budafok recreate the dialogue of Illyés, Bartók and the latter’s followers with wild dance, rigorous poetry, and great music.
