A village community wants to dedicate its church to King Ladislaus. But since it is not yet 1192, the year when Ladislaus was canonized, the villagers decide to produce the miracles that warrant sainthood for the late king. Selmeczi’s opera playfully weaves together motifs of the St Ladislaus legends, while offering splendid roles for the performers.
