The rare combination of organ and accordion promises vibrant colours, magical harmonies and sparkling rhythms. This is the first time we will hear the two instruments together at Müpa Budapest, courtesy of the husband-and-wife team of Vincent Dubois, titular organist at Notre-Dame de Paris, and the accordion virtuoso Marie-Andrée Joerger. Their programme mirrors their virtuosity and musical imagination. This extraordinarily colourful selection has a strong connection to dance. Between Bach’s organ masterpieces and Piazzolla’s tangos, pieces by Saint-Saëns, Vierne, Ravel, Debussy, Fauré, Poulenc and Caratini build irresistible bridges cast in dazzling new light by the unusual instrumentation.
