A composer of grand oratorios and heart-wrenching operas, not only was Handel a brilliant musician, he also demonstrated great talent as a businessman. In 2025, the music world commemorates the 340th anniversary of the birth of George Frederic Handel. Müpa Budapest’s February marathon presents a colourful cross-section of his rich oeuvre, and much else besides that too, since never before will so many early music ensembles have performed here on a single day. And, on this day, the Baroque master’s music will fill the entire building: in addition to his works in the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall and the Festival Theatre, the audience will also be able to explore a tableau exhibition (Foyer), hear concerts by students of the Liszt Academy (Glass Hall) and view concert film screenings (Auditorium) that evoke Handel’s captivating world.
