Kivilágos virradatig (Until the Brightness of Dawn) - a bouquet of symphonic Hungarian songs
Klasszik Rádió 92.1 is bringing its most popular classics to the stage of the Müpa Budapest concert hall now for the seventh time. This time, with the help of Smetana, Dvořák, the Strauss family, Lehár and other composers, we will recall, among other things, the most beautiful works from a happy era of peace, the Austro-Hungarian Empire. We'll get to hear these light and elegant melodies of loves and passions, as well as of carefree living, in a performance by the Danubia Orchestra Óbuda, conducted by Máté Hámori.
Each May, Klasszik Rádió 92.1 and the Danubia Orchestra Óbuda traditionally hold a spring concert in which the audience can hear the most popular classics from the stations's musical repertoire. Following the concept of the sold-out Classical Favourites concerts of previous years - 2017's Italia Bella, the following year's God Save The Queen! and 2019's Spanish Fiesta - the thematic series continues this year with a selection titled The Best of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The Danubia Orchestra Óbuda has more than 25 years of history to look back upon. The members of the ensemble view it as their mission to make high-quality music available to as many people as possible. Klasszik Rádió 92.1 was launched with a similar mission 13 years ago. The station broadcasts the most popular classical music from all eras, from opera to symphonic works, including some of today's most popular film soundtracks. The Classical Favourites concerts offer high-quality light entertainment for music lovers, with programmes of popular works certain to make anyone enjoy classical music. Each year, the concert experience is made exciting and unique by singers, instrumentalists and dancers. This time, the audience will get to enjoy the bright tenor voice of László Boldizsár, as well as the virtuoso playing of the Lajos Sárközy Jr Orchestra, who mainly play high-quality café Gypsy music.
