Two internationally acclaimed professors of the Savaria Early Music Workshop play rarely heard chamber pieces, given that concert audiences tend to get to know Bach's instrumental music primarily through his solo sonatas, rather than works for violin and harpsichord. Rita Papp and Zsolt Kalló are dedicated interpreters of early music who, having made the most of studying opportunities in their homeland, went on to perfect their skills under noted masters in Dresden and Leipzig. They have played with the György Vashegyi led Orfeo Orchestra and participated in prestigious early music courses. Kalló has premièred violin concertos in Hungary by Tommasini, Kraus and Michael Haydn. With several international competition successes behind her, Papp has worked with Barthold Kuijken and Anneke Boeke at the Sopron Early Music Days.
