Háry János Suite
Kodály
Dances of Galánta
Statistics show that one of the most popular orchestral works at the Palace of Arts, performed on the most occasions during its first decade, was the Dances of Galánta. Reflecting its commitment to 20th century music and Hungarian works, the Budapest Festival Orchestra performs the piece alongside another evergreen composition by Kodály, the Háry János Suite, presenting the concert audience some of the most beautiful moments of Hungarian music. A well-known overture by Rossini features as a graceful introduction.
