For 22 years, the Hungarian Hospice Foundation has worked to alleviate the suffering of incurable cancer patients, helping them through their last days without pain, if possible surrounded by their families at home. The foundation covers a large part of its operating costs from donations and grants. Artists, public figures and businesspeople offer their personal cooperation in an effort to help hundreds of patients gain continuous access to healthcare services, nursing and pain relief free of charge and tailored to their individual needs, in addition to constant and no less important spiritual comfort and support. The appearance on the bill of world-renowned operatic soprano Andrea Rost promises to make this special opera gala an unmissable experience to remember. A frequent guest on stages from the Vienna State Opera to La Scala in Milan, to New York’s Metropolitan Opera, Rost is an Artist of Distinction in her homeland, winner of the Liszt Prize in 1997 and the Príma Primissima Award in 2003.
