Bridging Europe 2016
French Days at Müpa Budapest
In 2016, it is the turn of France to take centre stage at the Bridging Europe 2016 festival jointly organised by the Budapest Festival Orchestra and Müpa Budapest. The series, which takes place between 21 and 28 September, has a richer programme than in previous years. The orchestral concerts by the Budapest Festival Orchestra and their contemporary and Baroque evenings will be complemented by defining personalities of 20th century French culture, such as Michel Legrand and Jean-Luc Ponty. The new wave of world music arrives courtesy of La Gâpette, who will be representing the culture of Brittany, while the literary performance evening entitled Transaction promises a startling and thought-provoking experience. This will also be a first chance to see the Krisztián Gergye Company's production entitled Lautrec Will Dance. As part of the festival's family programme, the audience will hear one of the key works from Igor Stravinsky's stay in French Switzerland, L'Histoire du soldat,
