Subscriptions and individual tickets go on sale for the 2026 Budapest Wagner Days
6 June 2025

Fans of the German composer will be celebrating two significant anniversaries next year: The first performance of the Ring of the Nibelung tetralogy took place 150 years ago and 2026 marks the 20th edition of the Budapest Wagner Days. Müpa Budapest promises to serve up an unforgettable experience with a double helping of the Ring, two performances of Parsifal and a song recital by Camilla Nylund, while the conductor Ádám Fischer will be flanked by Martin Rajna as joint artistic director.
As was the case in 2006, the festival will open with Parsifal, and the new production will feature a stellar cast. We will see and hear Magnus Vigilius in the title role and Kundry will be brought to life by the equally world-renowned Anja Kampe. The Ring, returning with direction by Hartmut Schörghofer and conducted by Ádám Fischer, will see a succession of world-class soloists taking to the stage, from Tomasz Konieczny and Magdalena Anna Hofmann to Jürgen Sacher.
Following the pre-purchase period for members of the Müpa+ membership programme, tickets for Budapest Wagner Days performances will go on sale to the general public from 10 am on 6 June, with dynamic pricing in effect. Season tickets for the Ring of the Nibelung can also be purchased at our box offices and online.
