Jazz Showcase 2024 – Here are the results!

20 February 2024

The 17th Jazz Showcase this year saw another six up-and-coming young bands take to the stage to show their stuff, competing for votes from both the jury and the audience, while established luminaries of the genre entertained everyone in the evenings.

This year, the members of Müpa Budapest’s international jury have picked Intergeese for the professional award, while the audience award goes to the Kriszta Koncz Group. Both winners will get the chance to appear at Müpa Budapest – on International Jazz Day, no less. Intergeese also won special prizes from the Budapest Music Center, Jazz Club DS, Dunaszerdahely and the Lamantin Jazz Festival and Improvisation Camp, earning them a number of additional opportunities to perform, as well.

Another special prize will bring the Kriszta Koncz Group to perform at the  Valley of the Arts – Veronika Harcsa’s Courtyard, while the  Rosé, Riesling and Jazz Days at Veszprémfest will host Emingó on the stage, and Up To The Surface will get to introduce themselves at the 2024 Zemplén Festival. Emingó also received a special prize from the Hungarian Jazz Federation, as did Grace and Gravy. The Claudia Raquel Quintet did not go home empty handed either: they were rewarded with an opportunity to perform at the Paloznak Jazz Picnic and ZamJam. Last but far from least, thanks to the offer from the 606 Club, London and the Harmónia Jazz Workshop, Kriszta Koncz and Levente Kapolcsi-Szabó will get to introduce themselves to the London audience.

We thank everyone for joining us over the past three days, and extend our warmest congratulations to the winners!
