Müpa Budapest is set to continue its anniversary year in the second half of 2025 with more top artists and massive international stars. As a hub of cultural encounters, we will be hosting the very best acts the five continents – from Europe and South America to Africa and Asia – have  to offer, as well as resuming our popular series.

For the past 20 years, the Müpa Budapest brand has served as a guarantee that no one will ever be disappointed with an upcoming season, and it is in this spirit that we have another crop of fantastic performers slated to take the stage in the autumn of 2025, a list that includes Sir Antonio Pappano and the London Symphony Orchestra, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Lahav Shani and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, and, visiting us for the first time, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, playing under the baton of Myung-Whun Chung.

We are delighted to welcome back the velvet-voiced diva Diana Krall and to host an intimate concert with José González, not to mention the debut Budapest visit from the young Korean composer Jung Jae-il, who scored both the Oscar-winning film Parasite and Squid Game. Also joining us for the first time, arriving straight from Brazil, will be the 89-year-old living legend of Latin jazz, Hermeto Pascoal, and his band.

The artist of the 2025/26 season is the captivating Icelandic piano virtuoso Víkingur Ólafsson, with the distinction of ensemble of the season going to the now 30-year-old Söndörgő, which, true to our traditions, has several evening’s worth of cathartic moments in store for the Müpa Budapest audience. The same applies to the new dance productions enhancing our repertoire, our regular festivals, and our popular series. Our JazzTime programme will bring the amazing Lisa Fischer and Morgan James, among others, to the stage in late August, and the Müpa Film Club is screening a selection of the most influential musical films in history. Aficionados of the written word will get to enjoy the new instalments of Literarium, and the Rising Stars programme, which each year features a raft of young talent, this time offers a chance to discover the emerging Hungarian cimbalom virtuoso Áron Horváth.

Find your favourites and come and join us! Let’s keep making history together!
