Featuring:
Petra Várallyay is a rare phenomenon. Her solo performances fill concert halls, yet she also pursues sensitive and understanding musical dialogues with regular and one-off musical companions, including musicians of the calibre of Bobby McFerrin, Uri Caine and Benjamine Clementine. The Junior Artisjus, Junior Prima and Creative Art prize-winning multi-instrumentalist is a profound cultivator of jazz, classical music, rock and various forms of folk. Várallyay stands alone at the centre of her brand new material, Circles in Motion, together her voice, violin, keyboard and a looper. Yet at the opening concert of Jazz Showcase, Várallyay's circle will expand to encompass some musicians who are taking the stage together for the very first time. Marcell Gyányi and Tamás Czirják – both members of the Makrohang group, among others – and Zsolt Kaltenecker all share Petra's liberated view of music.

Jegyzet
Dióhéjban az improvizáció történetéről
Az improvizáció a művészi szabadság legmagasabb rendű megnyilvánulása, amelyekben a zenész saját ihletéből, spontán módon, a lehető legkevesebb kötöttség nyomása alatt alakítja a zenét.
