On this occasion, we will have the opportunity to witness a unique encounter between folk music and jazz, as a four-person group of outstanding young jazz musicians looks to reveal the deepest fabric of music. They are curious what kind of new processes will be created by blending the right ingredients: yes, that's what Kovász (the band’s name is Hungarian for the ‘starter’ used to make sourdough) is all about! The audience will quickly realise that the solution often lies at our feet: we experience these concepts in metric and rhythmic asymmetry, shared movement and recitations. As we do so, we will find out if there really are any similarities between a traditional folk music ensemble and jazz groups.

Age: 8-14 year
