Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35

“Vengerov’s technical prowess cannot be praised enough, and his playing is driven by boundless passion,” The Times in London wrote some years ago of the violinist of Russian descent who is a frequent guest with the MÁV Symphony Orchestra. This time, he will perform Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, one of the best-known and most difficult works of the musical repertoire. Conducted by the energetic and visionary Gábor Takács-Nagy, the evening presents two Scandinavian romantic works: Grieg’s Symphonic Dances and the symphonic poem Finlandia by Sibelius that evokes the cold and majestic northern landscape.

Presented by: MÁV Symphony Orchestra
