Extreme Make-Over

The King Saint Stephen Music High School Wind Orchestra celebrates its 10th anniversary with a jubilee concert that revisits the most successful works from its decade-long journey. The performance will feature exciting, vividly programmatic compositions by Liszt, Saint-Saëns, Sibelius and Johan de Meij that are all inspired by literature, mythology and history, and all bear a strong narrative or “program” despite originating from different eras. The young musicians will bring these standout gems of the wind repertoire to life with sweeping energy and professional-level execution under the baton of Pál Makovecz, the orchestra’s founder and artistic director.
