British pianist Jeneba Kanneh-Mason grew up as one of seven children in her family. Each one of her siblings now plays either violin, cello or piano at a professional level. Her parents – her father hails from the Caribbean nation of Antigua, while her mother was born in Sierra Leone in West Africa – are both accomplished instrumentalists as well, though neither of them ever took it up as a career. The family enjoys considerable popularity in Britain, with the children frequently performing together. At age 21, Kanneh-Mason currently studies at the Royal College of Music in London and can already boast excellent results at numerous competitions, as well as serious international concert experience.
