Barnabás Kelemen has been celebrated by the Hungarian and international music worlds for decades as an artist who has achieved worldwide success as a soloist and chamber musician. The winner of numerous competitions, his playing has been immortalised on award-winning recordings like the Bartók New Series CDs. A quartet primarius, he also teaches at Budapest’s Liszt Academy and as a visiting professor at Indiana University Bloomington. As an artist of the 2024/25 season at Müpa Budapest, he will perform works by Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms alongside his wife Katalin Kokas (playing viola this time), the legendary cellist Miklós Perényi and the Israeli pianist Shai Wosner, an old partner of his.
