Simply the Bests! The Pannon Philharmonic is bringing a spectacular Valentine’s Day show to Müpa Budapest. In addition to singing along to ABBA and Barbra Streisand hits, which have played to packed houses many times in Pécs, the audience will once again also get to join in on some deservedly classic Sinatra numbers, with an orchestral arrangement of the best-known songs from legendary rock singer Tina Turner being presented for the first time as well. Bringing their brilliant voices to the stage for both duets and solo outings are Mónika Nika Veres and Bálint Magyar, with conductor Péter Illényi taking up the baton for the evening.
Tickets for the Pannon Philharmonic’s 2023 Sinatra night were snapped up in no time, and not without reason! These symphonic arrangements of the well-known songs, high in quality as crossover versions as well, provides them with a tremendous and rich sound. The Pécs-based orchestra, whose skills extend to popular music styles, is bringing its 2024 concert of unconventional musical selections to Müpa Budapest close to Valentine’s Day. On the programme for the evening: ABBA hits which are also well-known from the film Mamma Mia!, the Oscar- and Golden Globe-winner (not to mention all-time record sales champion) Barbra Streisand, king of swing Frank Sinatra and rock legend Tina Turner. All of the songs to be performed on this evening were global hits and remain at the top of the charts to this day. After opening with András Vass’s ABBA overture, the concert will feature Nika Veres Mónika and Bálint Magyar singing these highly familiar songs accompanied by the Pannon Philharmonic.
