Hey, June!

Founded in the eighties around guitarist, singer and bandleader Jenő Menyhárt, the story of Európa Kiadó is not a conventional one. The band has played in various constellations throughout its development and repeatedly refined and redefined itself in keeping with new and updated narratives. Over the years, the band has been able to reinvent itself time and again without ever becoming part of the mainstream, consistently maintaining its unique style and independent spirit. Although its fanbase spanning the generations knows "classics” like Romolj meg, Küldj egy jelet and Mocskos idők by heart, the ensemble never became its own tribute band throughout its many eras - it was always able to maintain that "here and now” feeling.
"The songs of Európa Kiadó are very dear to me, Tengerpart is one of the most beautiful songs in the history of Hungarian pop. Jenő's lyrics and personality had a big effect on me, just like his autobiography Amerika kiadó. I'm really looking forward to the new album!” says Dávid Marsalkó of Halott Pénz.
"After a long creative hiatus, we started working on new songs in a new line-up in 2013. Spurred on by our initial momentum, we quickly released an album. As the entire material developed further, new songs also emerged and everything came together into a more mature and coherent whole in terms of both content and form. This is what can be heard on the …Valahol lenni… album,” explains Jenő Menyhárt in reference to the band's latest disc. Now, once again, something exciting and new awaits...
