9.30 pm João Gilberto Live in Tokyo
Venues with a unique atmosphere come to life thanks to music: Budapest Ritmo is in the city again. Concerts filmed on special Budapest locations and in Akvárium Klub bring to you world music, as well as jazz, electronica, and even metal.
For years, Budapest Ritmo has brought about great discoveries and remarkable encounters, and 2021 will be no exception to the rule. The special music of Károly Cserepes, which transplants the traditionalist efforts of the dance house movement of the 1970s into the culture of modern electronica, will be complemented by Gábor Karcis's visual universe. Traditional melodies get an exciting new treatment at the concert of Tárkány Művek. The day comes to an end with a 2006 performance of João Gilberto. The material, which includes songs not released elsewhere, was recorded at the Tokyo concert of the father of bossa nova, and was put out after 12 years of post-production work, in 2019. Open your ears, Budapest Ritmo is waiting for you!
These concerts of the Bartók Spring are presented by Müpa Budapest as a joint event with Hangvető.
