In how many ways can this brave new world go wrong? Led by the pigs, the animals in an English farm rise up, drive away the people that had enslaved them and create their own state. But what happens if some animals are more equal than others, and the future suddenly begins to look even darker than the past? The legendary John Halas, AKA János Halász, made this animated film of George Orwell’s classic satire in 1954. The work is significant not only as the first feature-length film made in England, but also because of the major impression it made in the Cold War era.
In the original language, with Hungarian subtitles.
The discussions before and after the screening will be conducted in Hungarian.
