Who says that music doesn't require basic mathematical skills? This time around, the members of the band perpētuum focus on the contrast of odd and even numbers in our world, which is made up of many complementary opposites. They'll show us what it's like when a piece of music composed in an even time signature is played with an odd-numbered one, as well as how to dance to tunes with varied rhythms. Awaiting us is a concert of jazz and pop-based joyfully experimental music that guarantees one thing: the audience of this interactive show will partake in an unmatched experience.

Perpētuum is a true fusion band: the young performers took jazz as their starting point, but fans are well aware that defining their profile today would give equal weight to jazz, pop, metal and electronic music. What they say they play is alternative pop: alongside singer Fruzsina Girincsi, they have Dániel Takács on guitar, Áron Sárosi on bass, and Attila Telek at the drums. In their kitchen of musical experimentation, they never stop pushing their own boundaries for a single moment, and this has paid off: in addition to winning the audience award at Müpa Budapest's Jazz Showcase, they have also been lauded by juries and viewers alike at numerous festivals and popular clubs in recent years. Girincsi chose the name while reading István Örkény's short story "Perpetuum mobile”, which gave her the sense that music has been with us since ancient times, and yet is also constantly changing. The diacritic in the name "perpētuum” is a telling detail: the members of the group shape the genres and styles available to them in their own image. In their interactive, playful programme Unmatched Jazz, they think about the relationship between even and odd numbers by including their own compositions and jazz sounds in a way that will also move the audience, with the time signature focused on collective experimentation.
