Platinum level members of the Müpa+ membership programme can buy tickets for the event on 29 September from 10 am, at the Gold level on 30 September from 10 am, and at the Silver level on 1 October from 10 am. Basic level members, as well as members of the general public will get the opportunity to purchase tickets from 10 am on 2 October.

A tree that makes music and brings happiness to those around it while putting those to the test who cling to it most closely: The Magic Tree is at once a fairy tale, an orchestral adventure and a subtle moral parable. Marianne Poncelet’s story was rendered into Hungarian by Krisztina Tóth, while György Orbán composed colourful, sensitive music for the play. In this performance by the Hungarian National Philharmonic, the growth of the tree, the birds, the thief’s deceit and the gardener’s jealousy each receive their own distinctive tonal colour, while the narration of actress Diána Aida Fehér guides the audience through the twists and turns of the plot. The story tells of how easy it is to confuse love with possession, and how hard it is to hear what our envy has silenced. By the time the magic tree sounds out once more, the orchestra is no longer merely accompanying the tale – it has itself become a storyteller.
