The Hahó Ensemble's Advent Eco-Party
1 December 2019, Sunday
10 am - 11 am
Müpa Tent
Produced by Müpa Budapest

Pet a dog, kiss a beetle, hug a tree, pick up rubbish: here you can do anything - with music-making the most important thing of all! The Hahó Ensemble is carrying out a mission unlike that of any other Hungarian children's band's by helping their young audience understand - not only through words, but through singing, music and dance as well - that we only have one Earth, and we have to take better care of it. At their unique concerts, they perform music together with the children and for the children. And also on behalf of the children, or that is, on behalf of the adults of tomorrow. And this time the occasion will be a Christmas show.
The Hahó Ensemble formed in 2010 and quickly started to attract notice. While they say that what they do is popularise 'eco-thinking', this in fact means that they are teaching, in an entertaining fashion, how our world works and how it should work under ideal circumstances. They use songs to relate how the vitamin soldiers vanquish germs, what one should and should not buy at the shop, why we should always carry a cloth shopping bag around with us, and why packaging-free shops are better. Frontman János Kardos-Horváth has already championed ecological awareness playing with the extremely popular bands Kaukázus and Kafkaz and as a father. His efforts were recognised a few years ago when he was named an Ambassador of Environmental Protection. Striking out on uncharted paths alongside his three fellow members of Hahó, he has hit on a successful formula for entertaining the youngsters and, without talking down to them, making them think about important aspects of sustainable development. Because every child can be a good custodian of our environment, and music can help them become one...
