Müpa Budapest's programme series World-Wide has arrived at its tenth year, and for this jubilee occasion, it will focus on instruments considered to be uniquely Hungarian: the cimbalom and the tárogató. At this edition of the morning children's programme series of events showing the history, present and possible future of various musical instruments, Éva Korpás and her band will take the little ones and even littler ones to a fairy-tale land where the cimbalom plays one of the key roles. This concert will serve as a launch for Korpás's sixth children's programme, Piripotty.

It was in 2007 that Éva Korpás came out with Csalogató, her first solo album for children, which was followed by four other similar volumes. The sixth CD, currently under development, will be released in next spring under the title Piripotty, and this latest children's programme will be presented at this concert at Müpa Budapest. Piripotty transports children to a fairy-tale land where they can experience the events of their own lives from a completely new perspective with the help of their imaginations. To help us understand the poet István Gáti's fairy tale in verse written especially for this occasion, we will call on the knowledge of our grandparents: let them show us how to cope with the challenges of everyday life! The messages and advice of our ancestors can be read from the lyrics of our folk songs: you just have to pay attention to them. This concert will feature shared singing and dancing: joy, but sometimes coupled with sadness, as both are a natural part of everyone's life. It is important to keep our eyes out for what is valuable and to remind ourselves that our roots are always important. They are the soil that nourishes us. Korpás's latest children's concert, in which the dulcimer plays a diverse variety of pivotal roles, helps the youngsters do this.
