Poetry without music was considered inconceivable for thousands of years – verses written without melodies only gained popularity in recent centuries. For the next event of the Schools Concert series, we are reviving this ancient tradition. The Etnofon Music Company team will be joined by guest musicians to set the work of contemporary poets – Anna Kiss, János Lackfi and Anna Szabó T. – to world music foundations. These versions of modern poems will be heard alongside works from the greats, namely Sándor Weöres, Attila József and László Nagy, accompanied by melodies by Ferenc Sebő and Ferenc Kiss.
