The Seven Kingdoms Dance House is already a familiar and much-loved series at Müpa Budapest – yet this particular occasion promises to be truly exceptional. One reason for this is that it is being held as the grand finale of the superbly structured Sound Castle series, which explored Hungarian folk music from every possible angle. While the presentation portion introduces us to dance music, to what makes music truly “danceable”, and to its characteristic rhythms, the dance house that follows invites skirts to whirl and feet to stomp to those very same tunes. As always, children can also take their very first dance steps with the help of the finest musicians and dance teachers: small and not-so-small feet alike can dance away to the music of the musicians they have already encountered during the Sound Castle events, guided by the renowned dance teachers Zoltán “Batyu” Farkas and Ildikó “Fecske” Tóth.
