An odd couple? Far from it, although there is an age difference of four hundred years between the first great master of the genre of opera, Claudio Monteverdi, and the members of the band Lóci játszik, who shot into the Hungarian pop music sky like comets a few years ago. However, the chief aim of the Musical Dissection series is precisely to create just such unexpected and unique encounters. Otherwise, we would never get the chance to be surprised to discover exciting correspondences that go beyond mere similarities between the madrigal, a musical genre popular in the 16th century, and today's hits. The Musical Dissection programme series explores the conduits between what we call classical music and the "light" pop music favoured mostly by young people today.
