"Százszor visszajátszott” (Replayed 100 Times)

J. S. Bach

Violin Sonata in E major, BWV 1016 - 3rd movement

A true chef is capable of producing a special meal from even the most conventional ingredients: we recommend the first Musical Dissection show for everybody, not just gourmets. The 'partner' for the Konyha band (Kitchen), who primarily revel in eclectic rock music, is none other than the first Baroque maestro, Johann Sebastian Bach. In this friendly encounter, complete with expert explanations, you can find out how, deep down, surprisingly similar ingredients are to be found in some extremely diverse musical landscapes. True fusion cooking, Müpa Budapest style!

Pop music can also be serious, and classical music is not necessarily heavy-going. The Musical Dissection series is built around this premise. Whatever your age, attentive listening is the key to understanding music. The host Gergely Fazekas will inform the listener about what kind of parallels and similarities there are between Bach's music and hit rock songs. To help him in his feat will be the Konyha band, featuring the singer and guitarist Mátyás Szepesi, bass guitarist Dániel Haller and drummer Márk Badics. Konyha, who were formed in 2010, play dynamic concerts that have found acclaim on the stages of festivals and beyond. Százszor visszajátszott (Replayed 100 Times), the biggest song from their fourth album, Álomból Vár (Castle from a Dream) will be played on this occasion, too. Now, the link between Bach's Violin Sonata in E major, which he wrote in his pre-Leipzig years, and this song will no longer remain a secret. Kristóf Tóth was four years old when he commenced his music studies with Ildikó Soltész. In 2014, he was admitted to the Liszt Academy's Preparatory School for Exceptional Young Talents, where his teachers were Katalin Kokas and Miklós Szenthelyi. He currently studies under Kristóf Baráti and Péter Kováts.Along with first-place victories at numerous violin and chamber music victories both in Hungary and abroad, he also won the Junior Prima Award in 2019.

The event will be followed by a free activity session on Banner Square entitled Reverberation for groups holding tickets to the performance.
