In 2017, Müpa Budapest added a new category to its concert line-up: matinee rock. The underlying idea is to give children the opportunity listen to their parent's favourite band in a suitable environment and at a suitable time, while making sure the adults also enjoy the show. Firkin make Celtic rock accessible to every age group. After appearing in various Hungarian and international festivals, the band has now been given a new and decidedly tricky task: Conjuring up a punk-rock sound suitable for every member of the family is no mean feat.
Firkin's mission is to offer a 'cure' for our bodies and souls, a course of happiness for every generation. Müpa Budapest has set a new - and long-awaited - challenge for Firkin: to create a show for the most critical of audiences, children, while ensuring that the band's original followers lose nothing of the experience and, in fact, get more out of it than ever. Now, as always, the band will be giving their all to ensure that children and parents can rock out together with some good old Irish dancing.
If you've been to a Firkin concert before, then you will know just how powerful their music and performances are - and none of this power will be lost in this concert. While if you're familiar with the members of the band, you will know that they are all good people. If don't know, then you will just have to come along and meet them. It promises to be a real punk experience, only without the bruises!
