At the invitation of the Hungarian National Dance Theatre, and as part of the Budapest Dance Festival, the Martha Graham Dance Company, founded by the legendary dancer, will bring Martha Graham's iconic choreography and reinterpreted variations of that choreography to the Festival Theatre.

Martha Graham's personality, intellectuality and unique dance techniques have had a significant impact on the universal art of dance. Through sharp, angular, jerky and direct movements, she revealed the depths of human emotion. One notable aspect of the Hommage à Martha Graham production is that it will present an excerpt from the work Panorama (1935), which was 45 minutes long in its original form and was prepared for a piece of music from Norman Lloyd that was considered part of the avant-garde at the time. For a long time, Panorama was thought to be lost, until the parts of the show that we will see on this occasion were found on a film recording in 1992. A music instructor from the Martha Graham Dance Company is teaching this piece to dance students from the Hungarian Dance Academy. We will enjoy a performance from these students during this Müpa Budapest show.
